The purpose of Respite is to relieve families of the constant and ongoing responsibility of caring for a family member with a developmental disability.

Konocti Respite provides quality Respite Services throughout Lake and Mendocino County that:

• Respects the dignity, cultural lifestyle and overall uniqueness of each family
• Offer parents and caregivers the opportunity for rest and self renewal
• Address each families individualized needs
• Provides sensitivity and understanding to the family unit
• Maintain stability during unusual or stressful periods of time
• Bridge the gap of isolation often experienced by parents or caregivers
• Help parents/caregivers keep family members with developmental disabilities at home
• Maintain the family unit
• Allow parents/caregivers the opportunity to participate in a higher quality of life
• Enable fuller participation by all family members in their communities
• Restore and/or maintain the physical and mental well being of the whole family
• Meet planned or emergency needs
• Are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
• Provides supportive companionship during recreational opportunities
• Provides trained staff to meet your Respite care needs
