Konocti Instructional Services is a licensed Day Program (License # 176800042) through Community Care Licensing, Department of Social Services, that supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by promoting independence, creativity, and personal choice.
For most individuals, the opportunity to interact with others, to express their thoughts and ideas, and to engage in meaningful activities is an important facet of daily life. At Konocti Instructional Services - Clearlake (KIS-Clearlake), clients are encouraged to form friendships, articulate their wants and needs, and develop important skills and talents, all designed to enhance independence, self-confidence, and creativity. KIS-Clearlake offers person-centered activities that are specifically tailored to meet the needs and desires of each individual. Classes such as music, art, sewing, jewelry, crafting, and cooking promise creativity, communication, self-expression, and friendship. Staff endeavor to ensure that clients are treated with dignity and respect and that consumers engage in activities that are both purposeful and fulfilling.
For those clients who wish to enter the job market, Entrepreneurial Skill Building offers the chance to work in activities such as the café, coffee shop, and art. Staff collaborate closely with clients to develop and refine skills such as time and money management, community interaction and etiquette, decision-making, and positive communication. Some of these programs offer participants the opportunity to earn income for their efforts.
KIS-Clearlake is dedicated to partnering with individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities by promoting choice and opportunity. We strive to enable each one of our clients to pursue his or her own goals and dreams.

Enhanced Services:
This 1:1 (1 staff to 1 client/consumer) service is an adjunct to community-based day program services, for consumers who need assistance with working, volunteering, along with basic personal needs such as toileting, feeding etc.
The purpose of this service is to provide these basic personal needs, so that clients can attend, and fully participate in day program services.
Support is provided according to the individual’s IPP and scheduled based on assessed needs.
In-Program support will be performed as a complimentary necessary service, in day program services.
The number of hours for in-program support would be determined by the regional center service coordinator, and program personnel who would determine the specific hours of utilization. A client receiving in-program support would have an individual schedule tailored to their personal preferences.
