Employment Services is the division within Konocti LifeStyles that provides supported work opportunities. This occurs with a qualified and caring work supervisor and 2 clients (1:2). We provide a variety of janitorial and landscape maintenance services to both residential and commercial customers throughout Lake County. We also have work opportunities in our thrift store and distribution center. All clients are paid at least the current state set minimum wage, promoting their personal and financial independence.
In addition to teaching valuable work skills, such as teamwork, customer service and problem-solving, Employment Services allows the client/consumer the chance to interact with the community in several constructive and purposeful ways. By having the opportunity to demonstrate their talents and abilities in a public forum, clients/consumers receive a sense of self-worth and pride which only increases with each completed project or individualized goal.
These opportunities help foster a climate of inclusion and acceptance. The result is a mutually beneficial relationship between client/consumers and the community which extends long past the end of the workday.
It is through these work experiences that we assist each individual to achieve their employment goals. By choosing to work within LifeStyles Employment Services, you will:
Take steps toward independence
Be a productive member of your community
Learn valuable work skills
Set work-related goals
Learn how to work safely in an open environment
Learn to work as a team member
Develop self-management skills
Learn what it means to be flexible and open to changes in routine
Have fun and make new friends
Enhanced Services:
This 1:1 (1 staff to 1 client/consumer) service is an adjunct to community-based day program services, for consumers who need assistance with working and personal needs.
The purpose of this service is to provide these basic personal needs, so that clients can attend, and fully participate in day program services.
Support is provided according to the individual’s IPP and scheduled based on assessed needs.
In-Program support will be performed as a complimentary necessary service, in day program services.
The number of hours for in-program support would be determined by the regional center service coordinator, and program personnel who would determine the specific hours of utilization. A client receiving in-program support would have an individual schedule tailored to their personal preferences.
