MEET TONY
Tony has been a People Services, Inc. consumer since 1992. He has used our programs to enhance his Lake County lifestyle and make friends. These are the programs he and his family have used:
WHAT TONY LIKES BEST ABOUT PSI
"I like it here, 5 days a week. It's cool. I love it...When I am with People Services I'm not thinking about my Mom and Dad and family who have passed on...I love the staff in People Services. I love spending every day here. I love my best friends here. They are like family."
Supported Employment
Tony has partnered with our Supported Employment program for the last few decades. He has worked closely with his PSI Job Coach to be able to successfully perform his job duties and consistently meet the expectations of his employer. After 30 years of employment, Tony was able to retire. Tony's friends and family at People Services threw him a Retirement Party to celebrate.
He now spends 5 days a week at our LifeStyles Day Program. Tony volunteers with Meals on Wheels to distribute meals to seniors at the Kelseyville Senior Center and to Clearlake residents directly. LifeStyles also assisted him, as a former Special Olympics athlete, in collecting donations for his participation in this year's Polar Plunge (a fundraiser for the Special Olympics). Tony is very active in his retirement.
Respite Services
For 15+ years, Konocti Respite Services has offered Tony's caregiver a balanced lifestyle while Tony gets to go out to to eat and play sports. He has a special bond with Tommy, his Respite Worker, whom he loves spending time with. Tony says, "Tommy is good. He takes me out to dinner, out to basketball. I love it." Recently, Tony has moved out to live as an independent adult with a roommate.
